  • A method of the probabilistic finite state machine decomposition is proposed. A method is based on the Main Decomposition Theorem, modified for application to probabilistic state machines. The parameters of decomposition are described and the system of parameters estimation is proposed.

  • Results of application of the passification method for synchronization and state estimation of nonlinear systems over the limited-band communication are overviewed. Relevance of the passifiability condition the problems of synchronization and state estimation over the digital communication channel is demonstrated. The experimental results obtained on the multipendulum mechatronic setup are presented.

  • A game-theoretic setting of a problem of pulsed terminal control for a linear non-stationary object is considered under control action constraints. The solution principles are introduced, which take into account a priori limited noise in the feedback channel of the system. The example is given.

  • A hierarchical two-player game is considered, where the first player exerts restrictions on the choice of his or her opponent. A relation of this game to the games with communication and information manipulation is established.

  • Accounting for demographic heterogeneity in the general equilibrium framework leads to solving separate optimization problem for several consumer groups with different characteristics. In the present paper, an aggregation method of consumer characteristics is proposed that allows to take into account time variations in the preference coefficients and labor productivity. The method is applied to a particular type of models that are used to assess energy demand. We show that demand of the single population group that has averaged characteristics of the whole population is in good agreement with total demand of several different consumer groups. Thus, our method allows to extend the scope of application for the representative consumer approach to a wide class of multisector models with heterogeneous consumer characteristics that can change over time.   • Mishin S. P. Optimal delegation of authority for convex multi-output quadratic cost functions
  • We minimize a multi-output quadratic cost function by choosing optimal delegation of authority (DoA). DoA means distribution of management actions needed for a production subsystem between managers with complicated duplication of each others’ efforts. Formally this problem is equivalent to optimization of a production volume distribution between firms with complicated exchange of products and multi-output cost functions. We prove analytical results and use them to develop and test an efficient algorithm, which solves the optimal delegation problem with a small number of iterations.

  • In Russia chain-stores gained a considerable market power. We combine a Dixit--Stiglitz industry with a monopolistic retailer. The questions addressed are: Does a retailer always deteriorate welfare, prices and variety of goods? Which market structure is worse: Nash or Stackelberg behavior?   • Leonenko V. N., Pertsev N. V. Efficiency analysis of the programs of exposure of individuals predisposed to colorectal cancer based on imitational modeling
  • We apply mathematical modeling to assert the efficiency of different screening programs for individuals predisposed to colorectal cancer. The criteria of program efficiency are potential years of life lost and the number of examinations within a fixed period of time. A stochastic individual-based model was built describing the dynamics of population size, polyp occurence and growth within the particular individuals, mass examination implementation and polyp detection. The computational algorithm and the modeling program were developed. Computer simulation results reflecting different mass examination scenarios are presented. Recommendations are presented concerning the mass examination programm choice depending on the polyp detection method, the examination frequency and the average life length.

  • We consider a mathematical model of a high-throughput hybrid communication system based on free-space optical (FSO) and radio-frequency (RF) technologies. Transmission of multimedia information is carried out via two communication lines working in a hot redundancy mode: a FSO channel and a millimeter radio waves channel. We also derive an ergodicity condition of the Markov process modeling the system operation and calculate required characteristics of a hybrid communication channel.

  • Maikov I. L., Director L. B. Solving optimization and control problems of hybrid power systems in structure of the distributed generation
  • The algorithm is developed for optimal configuration and control of autonomous power systems. It takes into account random perturbations of external parameters and allows solving optimization problems with a personal computer in real-time. The idea of the algorithm is to forecast the power supply system operation as a response to external factors. The response is calculated by solving a goal function minimization problem for the increments with respect to the optimal solution on the first step of the algorithm, and for the increments with respect to the current solution on the following steps of the algorithm.

  • Karshakov E. V. Applying measurements of Earth’s magnetic field gradient parameters for aerial vehicle navigation problem
  • Information capacity of the Earth’s magnetic field gradient parameters is analyzed in the context of solving the navigation problem with the correlation-extreme method. The navigation algorithms are suggested for the design with coupling of a magnetic-gradiometry-based correlation-extremal system and an inertial navigation system. Integration is supported by the solution of the inertial navigation correction problem, which is reduced to the standard form of a linear stochastic optimal estimation problem. This problem is solved with Kalman filtering and smoothing methods.

  • We suggest an approach to traffic modeling on problem intervals of road networks. The approach is based on cause -effect complexes. It allows accounting for cumulative effect of heterogeneous components of traffic situation, including human factor, which is crucial in emergency situations. We use the suggested approach to model a single node of a road network. We describe both a structure of the model and details of its components. An example is given of traffic modeling on a regular crossroad.
