- Avdeeva Z., Kovriga S. Cognitive-map-based diagnostics of problem situations in complex system development
We propose a scheme for diagnostics of problems in complex systems development, based on the construction of a cognitive map of the system, and supporting techniques, which allow to explore different types of problems related to interaction of active agents, to the adverse effect of the environment, and to structural characteristics of the system; to consider the problem as a whole and to determine priorities for problem solving subject to their causes.
- Azmuhamedov I. Control of badly formalizable and poorly structured social engineering systems
We suggest a methodology for fuzzy cognitive modeling in badly formalizablesocial engineering systems (SES). We introduce the qualitative similarity measure for a pair of fuzzy states, and suggest using generalized Fishburn weights to determine the intensity of fuzzy links in a system. Also, we develop a technique for the synthesis of minimum cost management solutions, which bring the system to the desired target level of functioning.
- Yuditsky S. The triadic-networked roadmaps for systems development
The graph dynamics is considered of roadmaps of systems development processes for various applications. The basic model of «indicatory network» is introduced. This model is used to build a comprehensive model of a «triadic-networked roadmap» showing the dynamics of objectives, actions, and indicators on the required time horizon of development. An interactive algorithm is proposed for development simulation with formation of a sequence of stability periods separated with critical points where the roadmap is being transformed.
- Skubov D. Motions bifurcation of a loaded electrically damped pendulum (synchronization of electric machine with network)
In this article questions of synchronization of an electric machine with power networksare investigated. Mathematical modelingis performed with numeric-analytical methods for asymptotically simplifiedequations ofsynchronous electrical machinedynamics. The possibility of more reliable (as compared to commonly recognized)synchronization with a network is proved, namely, in terms of bigger initial difference of frequencies ofturbo-generator rotor and the network.
- Tchaikovsky M. Synthesis of anisotropic controllers via convex optimization and semidefinite programming
This paper presents several statements and solutions of the anisotropic suboptimal and $\gamma$-optimal controller synthesis problems for suppression of impact of random disturbances with unknown distributions on a control system performance. The problems of anisotropic controllers synthesis in form of static state feedback, of full-order dynamic output feedback, as well as of static output feedback are considered. Application of standard linearizing changes of variables and known convexification procedures to the synthesis problems for the considered special cases of the plant and the controller structure allow the problem solution to be expressed via a system of convex constraints representable by a system of linear matrix inequalities. The anisotropic suboptimal controller stabilizes the closed-loop system and keeps its anisotropic norm below a prescribed threshold value. The developed optimization-based approach to anisotropic controllers synthesis is novel and more convenient for practical computations.
- Urakov A., Timeryaev T. Fast search algorithms for two metric characteristics problems on weighted graphs
Two problems are considered of metric characteristics search on weighted undirected graphs with non-negative edge weights. The first problem is to find the radius, diameter, at least one center, and one pair of peripheral vertices of an undirected graph with non-negative edge weights. In the second problem one also has the pre-calculated distances matrix. For these problems we propose fast search algorithms, which use only small fraction of graph vertices for metric characteristics search. The proposed algorithms are tested on various inputs against the other popular methods.
- Varyukhina E., Klochkov V. Influence of personnel responsibility for accidents preconditions emergence on flight safety
A considerable number of accidents and crashes in the world are caused by human factor. Consequently, the most obvious decision to reduce accident rate is to enlarge the staff responsibility for making preconditions for accidents. Nevertheless, we provide the economic-mathematical analysis to justify extenuating the responsibility of the staff for the emergency appearance in the beginning of the operation period for them to report important information, which can be used to improve the system.
- Gorbaneva O., Ugolnitsky G. Static models of corruption in resource allocation mechanisms for three-level control systems
In this article the static problem of resource allocation in a three-level control system is considered. The impact of corruption mechanism on the economic system, the objective function of participants and their strategies are investigated. The abilities and ways to fight corruption in the case of implying compulsion and impulsion mechanisms are estimated. Compulsion and impulsion equilibria are found. The ability of fight against corruption in the case of the «interested» principal is proved.

We describe an integrated approach and the software to solve the problem of a nuclear power system structure optimization in a multi-objective formulation. The approach is based on the system dynamics and the parameter space investigation. We also provide some examples of implementation of these tools for multi-objective optimization of nuclear power structures.
- Eliseev A., Gitman M., Suhancev S. Estimation of stability of production plan under stochastic resource constraints
We suggest the notion of production plan stability by probability and use it to study the process of production plan execution in a special state space. We also provide simulation results of testing the approach to estimate production plan stability
- Maikov I., Zaitchenko V. Solving optimization problems in chemical reactions
An algorithm for solving optimization problems of chemical kinetics on the basis of Hooke and Jeeves, which uses a one-dimensional minimization along coordinate directions. The algorithm consists of two types of search – exploring search and pattern-matching search with restrictions. The one-dimensional optimization algorithm is based on the Brent’s algorithm. To calculate the objective function a system of stiff differential equations is solved with DIFSUB algorithm
