  • Kornoushenko E. Goal-oriented state control of cognitive linear model with bounded state space
  • The cognitive map, being the basic concept for this paper, is used to build a cognitive linear dynamic model with a bounded state space. We consider the problem of transferring this model from an arbitrary initial state to some asymptotically stable state belonging to a neighborhood of a given state. We suggest two classes of controls and introduce the “quality” of a transfer as proximity of the resulting steady state to the desired state. At the end, we propose an illustrative example.

  • Sidelnikov Y., Shalyshkin M., Shevyrenkov M. Review of the foreign scenario forecasts and foresights: tools for information management
  • We provide asurvey of foreign scenario forecasts and foresights to identify tools of information management. These tools can also be used in strategic planning support systems at federal and regional levels. We also suggest a list of poorly-developed, but very important problems and point out possible solutions.

  • Podlazov V. Boosting performance of multidimentional rings
  • We suggest a technique to boost speed of system networks in massive parallel multiprocessor computers by decreasing diameter and increasing the throughput of single duplex rings, ring tuples and quadruples. The result is due to replacing a duplex ring with a pair of commutable multidimensional rings. The technique provides considerable reduction of ring diameters and increase of ring throughput.

  • Gubanov D., Mikulich L., Naumkina T. Language games in investigation of social networks: finding communities and high-impact agents
  • We suggest using language games in social network studies. This method can be used for finding implicit communities and high-impact agents in social networks. We introduce a Naming game and explain how it is applied in investigation of social networks. Simulation results are presented for several specially designed graphs and for one real-life graph. We also survey alternative approaches and compare them with our method.

  • Akinfiev V. Choice of investment strategy of firms under demand uncertainty
  • Intensive competition on global markets forces companies to make their investment decisions in more uncertain environment than before. We study impact of investment strategy of a firm on its financial performance and efficiency of investment under demand uncertainty. The main distinguishing feature of the proposed analysis scheme is consideration of the relationship between an alternative strategy chosen and scenario conditions (market dynamics), which is modeled as a negative feedback during simulation. This paper describes the mathematical model, which implements the proposed analytical scheme of analysis.

  • Iskakov M., Iskakov A., Chernyavskiy A. Equilibium contained by counter-threats and complex equilibrium in secure strategies
  • We present two generalizations of the concept of equilibrium in secure strategies. In equilibrium contained by counter-threats (ECCT) no player can increase his or her payoff by a unilateral deviation without creating a threat to lose more than he or she wins. We assume that this condition must be satisfied for any pseudo-equilibrium in the generalized sense, and, therefore, any such equilibrium must belong to the set of ECCT. The second generalization is the complex equilibrium in secure strategies. The proposed concept allows us identifying a hierarchical structure of mutual threats between players and will be useful for the analysis of problems with asymmetric behavior of the players. Search algorithms for proposed equilibria and their examples in the matrix games are provided.

  • Uskov A., Kiselev I. Efficiency evaluationof investment projectsusing borrow money in the presence of fuzzyuncertainty
  • We suggest several efficiency metricsfor investment projectsusing borrowed money (stability degree, lowest loan repayment period, net present value, internal rate of return) with loan structure explicitly accounted for in formulas. They allow for considering a problem of joint selection of an investment project and a loan structure. We also derive the analytical expressions to calculate performance indicators under uncertainty using the arithmetic of LR-typefuzzy numbers. Possible applications include investment analysis.

  • Kulinich A. Model of agents (robots) command behaviour: cognitive approach
  • We suggest a mathematical model of agents’ cooperation in dynamics, which employs agents' utility functions and cognitive dissonance of their relations. The model is based on the theories of social psychologists investigating behavior of people in small social groups and explaining principles of their functioning and stability. We illustrate the suggested model with a simulation of a virtual soccer game of agents (robots). The developed simulation allows modeling diverse aspects of agents’ cooperation and selfish behavior.
